This policy explains what Kelly Wickramasuriya, doing business as UGC Content Academy ("we", "us"), collects on this site and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what you give us to run the training and the products you buy, and we do not sell it.
What we collect
- Registration details: your first name and email address, when you register for a live training.
- Your phone number, if you give it to us on the opt-in form on our homepage. That form is the only place on this website that asks for one.
- Consent records: when you tick a consent box on that form we store the exact wording you agreed to, along with the date, the time and your IP address.
- Survey answers: the optional questions you answer after registering.
- Purchase details: if you buy a product, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage data: standard analytics and advertising cookies, including the Meta pixel, which records that you visited or registered so we can measure our ads.
How we use it
- To send your access link and training-related emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To send the text messages you specifically consented to. See the Text messages section below for the full detail.
- To deliver products you purchase.
- To measure and improve our pages and ads.
Text messages (SMS)
We only text you if you ask us to. There is exactly one place on this website where you can give us your phone number and your consent to be texted, and that is the opt-in form on our homepage. No other form on this site collects a phone number for texting, and we never add a number obtained from anywhere else.
There are two separate consent boxes on that form, and neither one is ticked for you. The first covers non-marketing messages: live training dates, your join link and reminders before the training starts. The second covers marketing messages: special offers, discounts and service updates. You can tick one, both or neither, and the wording printed next to each box is exactly what you are agreeing to.
- Message frequency: may vary, roughly 2 to 6 messages a month.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. We do not charge for the messages themselves.
- Opting out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Text HELP for assistance, or email us at the address below.
- Carriers: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Not a condition: consent to receive texts is not a condition of registering for the training, of purchasing anything, or of using this site.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who we share it with
Service providers only, and only what they need to do their job: our webinar platform (WebinarJam), our email platform, our SMS provider, our payment processor (Stripe), and our analytics and advertising partners. We do not sell or rent your details to anyone, we do not buy or sell leads, and we have no affiliate arrangements that involve passing on your details.
This sharing specifically excludes your mobile number and your text messaging consent, as set out in the box above.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will sort it. If you are in the UK or EU, these rights are backed by UK GDPR and GDPR.
